Courtney Spivey

Courtney Spivey is the Technical Assistance and National Networks Facilitator. Her role is to provide support for the National Programs Team mostly with and for the Community Food Projects grant; her current focus is the 2019 Community Food Systems Conference in Savannah, GA. She previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at New Entry working with volunteers at the Food Hub and on the farms. She is from Villa Rica, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in International Studies. Courtney has a daughter with her husband, Alex. Before moving to Massachusetts, Courtney worked at a food bank in Statesboro, GA as a Community Liaison connecting the local population to the university community through volunteer programs and fundraising; this is where she found her interest in food security. She is also a graduate of the Production Course at New Entry; at home she grows kale, tomatoes, spinach, and peppers. You can reach Courtney at courtney.spivey@tufts.edu.
