Definitions beginning with C
Community Supported Agriculture referrs to a model of farming where both the customers and the farmer share the production risk and benefits. Customers buy a share at the beginning of the season, helping the farmer know how much to grow and providing the start up capital to get plants in the ground, pay staff, and maintain machinery. The customer receives produce throughout the season, often picking up food every week. If the crops fail, the farmer is able to stay in business. If the crops prosper, the customer gets even more great food.
