Emily had a simple dream: to share her ethically and ecologically grown flowers with her community. As a thirtieth birthday present to herself, she decided it was time to make it a reality. Growing up surrounded by greenery, she’s been playing with plants since she could hold a trowel, and her first pets were worms in her family’s garden. Emily delved further into her passion for farming at UMass Amherst where she studied Biology and Environmental Science. As she continued her education, she realized the best way to solve issues she was passionate about, like climate change, pesticide and herbicide pollution, and waste excess, was to work on a local level. After an inspiring class on permaculture gardens and plant propagation, Emily thought about the importance of being outside and working in the dirt. With New Entry's courses, she was able to pursue her own farm, cultivating flowers independently. Emily's community is inspired by her for doing what she loves and following her dreams. She has now been growing and designing with flowers full time for 8 years, finding peace and happiness in the simplicity of creating beautiful blooms that bring others joy.
